A second U.S. flagged cruise line will start making cruises in Hawaii next year. The 36-passenger Safari Explorer, owned by American Safari Cruises will be seven and one-way 10-night cruises between Maui and Big Island and back starting in October. Ports of call will be the less visited islands of Molokai and Lanai, and itineraries will be flexible, allowing passengers to secluded coves, inlets and coastlines to explore.
A more standard cruise is offered by NCL America, whose 2,000-passenger Pride of America has been making weekly roundtrip cruises from Honolulu for several years, the Safari Explorer not to visit.
